   CherHill Dairy Goats started around 1997 when our Daughter, Christina, started in 4-H. We then had the herdname Christie's. Being Suburbanite transplants, we didn't have much knowledge about farm animals. We quickly learned.....and goats became our passion.

Our first bucks from South-Fork and Two-Ceders.

In Christina's very first show, she won showmanship, and many first place awards...and as the saying goes, the rest is history.<smile>

We are located in SW Missouri, in the Ozarks.

We currently have Saanens, Sables, LaManchas, and Nubians. But we plan on cutting way back on the Lamanchas and Sables, and concentrate on our Saanens and Nubians.

We also plan on going on DHIR milk test next Spring. And, hopefully, a few more shows.

My husband and I now 'inherited' the goats.

This is Cherish, this sweet, gentle doe, was the one who really got us going with the Saanen breed. She wasn't a sale barn doe, but was on her way there. She was a rescue doe....when we first got her, she was giving about a quart of milk a day....in this pic, 2 years later, she was at almost 3 gallons. What an amazing gal she was in all respects. We lost her way too early due to a huge tumor found in her abdomen.

 

Boscoe was one of the only kids we got from her and was our herd sire for 8 years. He passed this Spring.

 

Their sweet gentle and comical personalities are deeply missed.

 

Cher is the reason we changed our herd name from Christie's to CherHill.
